Arabic Pad

Writing Arabic with non Arabic windows or keyboard can be a frustrating jobs. But with Arabic Pad, this can be done easily. Arabic Pad is a simple editor like notepad, but designed to write Arabic [Unicode] text , especially for Non Windows Arabic. I hope that with this program write Arabic is more easily, by customizing the keyboard key so it’s close to the Arabic letter sound.

Setting your Computer (Windows 2000/XP)

Before you can using this program you must set your regional setting by add Supplemental language Support (right-to-left languages). If after run this program and the text doesn’t work correctly, the text were left aligned or the text were broken, then you must do the following step:

  1. Open Control Panel
  2. Select Regional and Language Options
  3. select Languages tab
  4. And check the options “Install files for complex script and right-to-left (Including Thai)” and click Apply.
  5. Insert the Windows CD Installer and locate the correct path requested.
  6. Follow the next step until the computer ask for restart, so restart.

If the above step still doesn’t work, maybe you have to install Universal Font. For Microsoft Office user, you can add Universal Font from the Installation CD. Follow this step :

  1. Open Control Panel
  2. Select Add or Remove Programs
  3. Select Microsoft Office and click Change
  4. Select Add of Remove Features click Next
  5. In the next step, check the “Choose Advanced Customization of Applications” and click Next
  6. From the tree view, Select: Office Shared Features > International Support > Universal Font (click/select and choose Run from my Computer from the drop down menu)
  7. Click Update

    Saya mendapati adanya defect dalam traditional arabic font versi 5.92, yaitu pada ligature lam-mim. Bila ligature lam-mim diberi harakat fathah atau dhammah pada bagian mim, maka fathah atau dhammah tidak berada di atas mim, tapi fathah-nya di bawah mim & dhammah-nya menabrak letak huruf mim.
    Bagaimana memperbaiki defect pada arabic font seperti itu? Syukron atas bantuannya. Salam.

  56. mas cara nulis fathahtain/kasrahtain/dommahtain bagaimana ya mas? gagal terus jadinya malah huruf mim lalu diikuti buletan kosong dg tanda baca tanwin tsb. di copas disini malah cuma jd kayak gini مٍِ

    • bulatan itu timbul karena tanda bacanya berdiri sendiri. untuk penulisan tanwin, misal an, in, un, maka cukup dengan dua kali menekan tuts. misal untuk huruf fatha (a), dengan tekan huruf e (kecil), untuk huruf fathatain (an), maka dua kali menekan huruf e (kecil). maka secara otomatis fathatain akan muncul. jika penulisan fathatain diawali dengan menekan huruf e(kecil) kemudian tekan spasi dan menekan huruf e (kecil) lagi, maka akan muncul bulatan, karena fatha tersebut berdiri sendiri.

  58. Alhamdulillah, jazaakallahu khairan. Softwarenya sangat mudah dan membantu. Menurut pengalaman saya dengan penggunaan aplikasi ini terutama untuk menulis arab jawi, Jenis Font yang paling pas digunakan adalah jenis font Arabic Typesetting. Begitu juga untuk ngetik huruf arab dengan tanda Shadda diatasnya kemudian diberi baris kasrah maka letak posisi baris kasrahnya akan dibawah hurufnya, kalau font jenis lain posisi kasrah di atas hurufnya dibawah Shadda.

    • benar mas.. hanya saja tetap tidak salah juga kalau tanda kasrahnya berada di atas shadda, yang penting tidak berada di atas tanda tasjid.

    Saya pakai software ini sejak akhir 2011, walhamdulillah.
    Pertanyaan saya terkait menambahkan harakat Subscript Alif = II, ketika saya pakai font traditional arabic hasilnya kurang/terpisah, begitu juga ketika saya copy ke word (tidak dibawah huruf tetapi dibawah lingkaran putus-putus). Meski jika menggunakan beberapa font lain tidak ada masalah.

    Untuk permasalahan diatas memang tidak bisa maksimal dengan font traditional arabic atau ada cara lain?
