Interesting to see ge.tt mentioned here. File-sharing services have changed a lot over the years, but the basic need is still the same: people want a simple way to upload and share files without too much friction.
One thing that matters much more today is checking whether a hosting service is still active, whether old download links remain valid, and whether files come from a trustworthy source. For software and APK files in particular, users should verify the source, permissions, and file details before installing anything.
Older posts like this are also a useful reminder of how quickly online storage and file-sharing platforms can disappear or change, so keeping alternative mirrors and clear source information is important.
